Syria Tour of 11 days 10 nights
Day 01: Meet and assist at Damascus International
Airport, transfer to hotel, dinner and Overnight.
Day 02: Breakfast, full day Damascus city tour:
visit the National Museum (10 000 years of culture) handicraft market (the best
hand made crafts of the Middle East), Azem Palace (a perfect example of a
traditional Damascene house, an ethnic museum now). Umayyad mosque (a place for
worshiping since the first millennium b.c), the straight street (the via recta,
the place where St. Anania met St. Paul and converted him) the church of St.
Ananias, the window of St. Paul and a stroll in souk hamidieh (one thousand and
one kinds of goods), end the tour of a panoramic view of Damascus from mountain
kassion. Back to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 03: Breakfast, departure to Seydnaya (the Monastery of our Lady and
the oldest icon of the Lord & the Lady), proceed to Ma'alula (the town that has the oldest monastery, and its people still
speak Aramaic the same language Jesus spoke and Taught). Transfer to Krak Des Chevaliers, visit the mediaeval castle of The Krak
des Chevaliers (the most well preserved castle from 1110 A.D the castle which
is considered the mother castle of all medieval European castles), Continuation
to Lattakia- dinner and overnight in Lattakia.
Day 04: Breakfast, visit Ugarit (the city
where the first alphabet was found. Thousands of clay tablets and a great royal
palace dates back to 1400 B.C), to The Castle of
Saladin (the most impressive castle on the Syrian
coast. was known as Zayoun castle from the Phoenician times, continuation to Apamea the longest
street over than a mile long and 37 meters wide, one can notice three different
styles of pillars. See this town that once invited Hannibal the great
Phoenician leader from Carthage to live in and the great Cleopatra once had
been here), visit the Mosaic Museum, to Hama - Dinner and overnight.
Day 05: Breakfast, in the
morning Visit Waterwheels (Noria), excursion to Ebla, drive to Aleppo en route visit of Maarat En-Numan
then to Serjellah - dinner and overnight in Aleppo.
Day 06: Breakfast, Full day
visit of Aleppo including the Museum, the Citadel, the Great Mosque, The
Caravansary, St. Simeon (the stylist, who spent most
of his life on a pillar) and a stroll in the famous souks - dinner
And overnight.
Day 07: Breakfast, Departure
from Aleppo to Qalaat Jabr: visit of the castle. Drive to Rassafa for visits -
transfer to Deir Ezzor for dinner and overnight.
Day 08: Breakfast, visit Deir Ezzor
Museum, proceed to Palmyra via Qasr El-Hir Ash-Sharqi - dinner and Overnight.
Day 09: Breakfast, Palmyra visit the
Temple of Bel, the Arch of Triumph, the Great Colonnade, the Agora, the
Theater, the Necropolis, the Regional museum, the Tombs, transfer to Damascus
for hotel and overnight.
Day 10: Breakfast, full day excursion to the south to visit Shahba (the city of
the roman emperor Philip the Arab. With a lovely small mosaic museum), Sweida
(an old Nabatian roman city known as Dionysian for its reputation of vineyards
and wine), Qanawat, Bosra (the greatest theatre built in 103 A.D and could
house more than 15 000 spectators), back to hotel in Damascus for overnight.
Day 11: Breakfast, Transfer to Damascus Airport.
